Did you know that 90% of the money raised through bell ringing at Kroger goes straight to TOPSS? It stays right here at home! These funds help families keep their utilities on. It might sound like an odd connection until you look a little closer.

Earlier this week a grandmother called me in a panic. Her daughter had received a utility disconnect notice. She had already burned through every option and was terrified the power would be shut off. Her grandchildren needed electricity just to get ready for school. And it hit me again how many of our neighbors send their kids out the door each morning trying to function like other children while living without the basics. We can hand out food all day long, but if you do not have power to cook it, what good does that do. And what happens when your support system is in the same boat and unable to come through?

The truth is, people make do. They go without. And their kids go without too. That is why keeping the power on is essential, especially in the winter. You cannot send a child to school with wet hair when it is below zero.

When you ring the bell or drop a few dollars in the bucket, you are helping us step into situations like this once a year per household to keep families stable, warm, and able to meet their basic needs. So, clean out all that change in the console of your car before you walk into Kroger or save a dollar back after you shop. You can also use the QR code on the sign to donate with a card. Every little bit helps. That little red kettle has a bigger impact than most people realize!

If you need help or resources, our social services office is open Monday through Friday, 9 am to 1 pm. We always suggest calling ahead at 513-523-5859, option 2, so we can make sure a staff member is available. If someone isn’t free right away, we’ll set up a time that works for you 📆

The pantry is open for curbside choice shopping Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3 pm to 6 pm, and Saturday from 12 pm to 3 pm. No appointment, no paperwork, no ID. Just pull up, and we’ll get you started ✨

Our next holiday distribution begins Thursday, 12/18, and every household will receive an extra bag of holiday goodies through 12/23 when we close for the holiday 🔔

If you need help with holiday gifts this year, give us a call and we’ll connect you to community resources 🎁

Our most needed item through the end of the year is monetary donations. Whether it’s $5 or $500, every dollar goes toward keeping families stable. Because when our neighbors do well, our whole community thrives ❤️
